thats why your my drinking buddy. yep, that about covers it. Ohhhh and you forgot, never ever let the goat ride on your handlebars, it can only slow you down!
You guys are lucky that you don't ride at Grattan or Gingerman... Joe(the photographer) doesn't miss anything... He's snapped two crashes of mine & doesn't hesitate to give me shit about it either...
If Trick grins at me and says "That's right man , I am Dangerous " Im gonna kick his arse below the hard deck ....
Usually about the best quote your gonna get outta me is "Shes lost it man, no shes lost it." Then mezcal saying something along the lines of "I hate it when they do that" And thats how I got thrown out of Sammies last time. They dont allow karoake or following the women into the restroom. I did not know that.
I usually shake my head and look at the ground when I say something like that, you forgot that part. hehe Sammies just doesn't get you, Kyle. They don't know a good timer when he walks through the door. Such prudes.
Porky I say Da MATER, I'm from the South too. I resent being called a tomato though. I'm more of a pickle. BTW, you ever hold a mirror up to a mirror? I'm getting that effect with all these frigging quote boxes.
well if i ever get the bike out of the shop, i will be ready, the headlamp, and wind screen taped up, and center stand removed. done be for taking to shop. i still need to get coter pins in the rear and front axles (as i am sure that is required) and the fairing bolts replaced. missing a few.
Put the centerstand back on for convenience till you get to the track. Bring it by Fri evening (no we won't be camping at McD's we'll be at CMP when the gates open) and we'll take it off then. I got some cotter pins. I also got a baxley chock I can bring for you to park the bike in between sessions. Just bring the bike by Fri if you want and I'll get it ready for tech for you. Will give me something to in the evening.
i still have the side stand. remeber i have two stands on this bike. yea i should be ther after work that friday.
Me and a friend are making our way up from Atlanta on Friday. Dont know exactly where we are staying Friday night, but I do know we are going to hit some watering holes in Five Points Columbia, SC Friday night. Anyone from this are that could point us where would be a good place to throw a few back?
Sorry to get in on this discussion late, but why are tire warmers needed for the PR series? I run the PR's but dont have warmers yet.....maybe I should get some.
If you can ride fast enough to take advantage of the extra grip the PR's have over the PP's then you have to get the PR's up to proper operating temp first. Without warmers & depending on ambient conditions this can take more than a few laps before you can really push them hard. At some tracks 3-4 laps can be half of your session before your tires are up to temp. Even with warmers you still can't go all out for a lap or two on PR's without them moving around on you a lot. If you are riding at a lower level then you may never notice the tires are not up to temp. Race rubber is a great tool, but is just not required for most trackday riders & as a tool it can be used correctly or incorrectly. The more overall grip you have from your tires the better your suspension needs to be to cope with the added stresses. Most riders can ultimately do far more with less drama & suspension problems (that they may not even know they are having) on good tires that aren't quite up to race specs. On the other hand some riders derive confidence from knowing that they have the best rubber they can get on their bike & confidence is a huge part of any riders A game. Addditionally the tire warmers (& this is the more important part for me than outright grip) help reduce heat cycling issues & the tires last much longer before going off.
...what he said Kevin . If you want to borrow my tire warmers the rest of this season you are welcome to them . Not like I'm gonna be needing them
Thanks for the info...... I chose PR's because I was getting what I think is called 'cold tear' on the pilot powers.........the thing where the back side of the rain groove is higher than the front, or vice versa....I had visions of this causing the tire to go up & down (on a very minor level) at full lean............I don't have rain grooves on the PR's at the edge, so not concerned about that...........as for pace, I've never been anywhere but Tally, and run 1:10's over there.....
Cold tearing is caused by many different factors, but the most common is incorrect pressures (usually too high for the conditions). It can also be contributed to by incorrect suspension settings (many times it is a rebound issue when it comes to cold tearing the rear) & another main culprit is lack of cornerspeed. A lot of guys will go into a turn way too slow then hammer the throttle on the way out & it just shreds the tire to pieces when it is not up to proper temp (then again that is not a good thing to do when the tire is up to temp...) Just switching tire brands or types isn't really solving your problem just band-aiding the situation temporarily. & trust me I know all too well about all the conditions described above. I went through a fairly costly learning curve myself before getting all the facts straight
