That was not my experience last year, it was the first session on saturday and I was told to put my gear away (in so many words), and I was in the spectator area (granted right next to the sign that said no spectators beyond this point....but still in the proper area). Not sure if anyone else was singled out like that. I also have not bought photos from SSP since, and I have purchased photos at every other event I have done that has had a photographer, not that my little lack of purchasing makes a difference but I just cant support that. But I will admit the experience still leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but the very good news is that is the ONLY bad thing I could say about STT, it was a pretty awful experience in that sense, but the list of good things related to STT are a mile long, the novice program especially gave me the confidence to be able to ride in some of these groups where I am located now, that have beginner/novice set up as the wild west. and THAT is invaluable.
To this day I agree. Not putting any other organizations down as I've seen a few. I rode my first track day with STT back in 2007 when they still ran days at Mid-OH. At the time I thought the novice program was just how track days were. Since then I've found that is not anywhere near the case with many other orgs. Instruction on rev matching while braking, getting off the bike, the lines, the 3rd gear drill and other nuances are not taught at other places, unless you ask and even then you need to ask the right question. Only place I've seen that teaches novice as good is Mid-OH and I honestly think they just copied STTs program. As they should, no copyright infringement necessary. I'm a better rider because of what I learned at my first few track days. Still slow, but I have a way better understanding of how to ride than I think I could have figured out on my own. Again, not knocking the other guys, they really do a good job, but STT is certainly premier in this respect.
I hope it's OK to post this, if not delete it. Pics from spectator area. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1505619289660317.1073741851.1409866439235603&type=1
Dang...apparently I need a new cell phone...or a better understanding on how to use one. Great pictures...and I wasn't even there...
oh. :thumb: I thought you were about to lay some Yoda-esq Jedi Cell phone camera ninja fu on us. I got excited.
I think some hot pink powder-coated wheels would be more practical. I got my wheels powder coated "shocker yellow". Save the bling for things that will survive a crash.
Thank you Joe, but I am by no means a pro, and when it comes to your photography or Sideline photography and such, I think my pics don't really hurt nobody much. Also I consider myself kind, if I say so myself, and understand it can hurt the photographer's business somewhat, and would not post any pics I take on fb or elsewhere, other than of my friends whom I know for sure are not buying. In this case I didn't either, like I told Jake at ACC that I wouldn't, until I read that all of his pics are lost. Until yesterday I only had posted pics of my friends who weren't buying anyway. Yesterday I added some more, just so people have something. I do not sell, it's for fun, sharing and tagging. :thumb:
No, I was not. I was offered, very nice of STT to think of me, but I was not able o fit it in my schedule. I do believe someone was out there though.. Please check with STT.
I've been thinking about the rims :thumb: I looked thru your pics and didn't see any. black bike, no stickers or numbers. white/black leathers and purple/pinkblue helmet :jester: <---- The helmet in my avatar
have we gotten definitive word that the ACC pics were lost? Last i heard they were sent out to attempt a recovery.
