I'm in. Bought the tickets early enough this time. Missed the last Gman event by waiting too long to pull the trigger...

Can't wait. This will be my first trip to Gingerman, and I'm riding in Intermediate both days. I'll be looking for an instructor early in the AM to learn the lines of the track.

Where does everyone spend the night?

I'm bringing a tent, but if it's going to rain I might bail and look for a hotel...

Thanks Denis - I'll look for you...

If you're tent camping, stick to the designated area under the trees near T2. The paddoc becomes a slanted flood plain if the skies open up.

Hotels in the area tend to be pretty expensive mid-season, since South Haven is quite the tourist destination. If you don't mind that & you're bringing a significant other, I'd highly recommend Lake Bluffs. It's right on the lake, & has a deck for viewing the sunset. Otherwise there's a Holiday Inn Express & a couple others a few miles West of the track by the highway. Check GingerMan's website for contact info.

I am in for both days at gingerman in the intermediate group. Should be a great time.

I ran the new track set up at gingerman yesterday (June 7th) in my car. Here are the pros and cons of a few things I noticed while out there.

    Pros:
I like the new addition, its similar to grattans turn 3. It a somewhat blind turn drops down to the apex, and then comes back up. Also I can see a lot of people pulling power wheelies coming out of the new turn as its up hill until it blends back in with the original track. (Cough* might be a great place for jig to get some of those "not the suckiest pics" **end cough :) )

    Cons:
I didnt like the patches of blacktop placed in certain areas of the track. The patch between turns 7 & 8 doesnt have a smooth transition at all, and the patch at the apex of 8 is rough if not hit perfectly and also has a raised lip.

I should be there for my first trackday ever on saturday in the novice group (obviously). I'm looking forward to it. I am really hoping the weather doesn't turn out to be as bad as what is being said.

Hope to meet some of you guys/gals there. I'll be riding the bright blue sv650.

Oh and don't forget to take off you street body work.

LOL!!! Yeah, the other guy who did his first track day on the SV this past weekend, ruined every piece of street fairing from his crash**. It's funny, he now wants to turn it into a "track bike."

haha my 929 has some character to it. I bought some after market fiberglass fairings then closed up the headlight area, however they are not ready for the track so Im taking my rashed street ones out again. Just not enough time.....

    Hotels

    I've called around this evening...

Holiday Inn Express, if they give you a discount, is $135/night - ugh...

Looked at all the B&Bs on the Gingerman site - most are sold out and/or too expensive anyway.

Where are the rest of you guys staying? Has anyone stayed at the Great Lakes Inn & Suites?

    Thanks,

    Richard

UGH! I just got my track suit tonight and made sure everything fit. I just went to buy the track day and Novice is sold out for saturday june 12th. If anyone knows anybody selling a novice for june 12th i'll buy it off them for the full 125. I really hope someone wants to sell one.
