Just so i understand, a thief could come up unplug your switch add this one and be on his way so to speak? If i had to keep my bike outside i would also have something on the frame or wheels to secure it along with full coverage.

Somewhat, they would have to get under the tank and airbox to plug it in to bypass the key switch so it would take a few minutes. They wouldn't be that popular with thieves as they will just roll it way and break the ignition later. If your bike is outside and not tied down even with wheel locks they will just take a couple of rods and carry the bike away (obviously more than one thief in the crew for this method)

The wiring for this isn't new, already tons of diagrams on the internet to roll your own so to speak as keyless is popular for racebikes, these are just pre-built for you.

they do not carry one for my track only SV1000 but if they did I would get one. I hate having to make sure I have the key (zipped tied to the bike now) and you never know, murphy law says if you go down, key pops out, and you are stuck. I have a key zipped tied to the bike, and a back up key in my trailer (one of those magnetic hide a key) and seems like I still worry about showing up to the track without a key :)

I also guess they would have to be bike- (or at least brand-) specific...

I know they are for racebikes, but still...

I know what you mean about keys - before I leave the house heading for the track, I ALWAYS physically check for a key because not much would be more embarrassing to drive 3 hours to the track, then drive 6 more to go home and get your key and come back...

I did that once in the Army, I got back to Fort Knox after weekend leave, realized I'd left something home that I HAD DO HAVE he next morning, and spent all night driving back home and then back to Knox so that I was in the proper uniform in formation the next morning..ugggh...I was the Company Commander, so there was no way in hell I was going to be THE guy not in the proper uniform...so embarrassing...

Personally I think it's cooler to do this on your own. At least for kawi, it's not much more than some wire and one 120 ohm (If I remember correctly) resistor.

You can also get creative and find a killswitch to put onto the left bar. Or what I'm working on now, an arduino based RFID system that controls a relay in series with this (If you are concerned with ease of stealing).. :hat:

Damn, dude! I can make my Arduino blink some lights and shit, but RFID? Nice! :thumb:

But really, I was thinking about using the Arduino as an integrated taillight controller. They can be pretty handy little things if you use your imagination!

Yeah man! It's really fun and cool to be able to combine hobbies like that. Taillight controller is a great idea to :rawk:

These are easy enough to make on your own. You can even buy the specific bike connectors for around $1 each. You would need the goofy crimping tool to make it look OEM.

Why must ppl think so negatively right off the bat? I know at least 10-12 ppl that run keyless, this is a killer option for ppl, you DO have to hack the harness in order to run keyless, and guess what they can go on any bike specific forum and find out how to build a keyless ignition, thieves already know about this option and thats a fact. I built my own on my zx6r & this time around i'm clipping in on my zx10. This isn't going to help or deter theft, if they want your shit, they will take it.

I wasn't looking at it from the racebike angle, which if would then serve a purpose...I was looking at it from the point of view of making it easier to steal a streetbike...

its not gonna make it any more or less easier. I would never put on on a street bike anyhow, you'd have to be a fool to do that where they can just kick the switch on and voila. If they can dismantle a bike and get all this plugged in without bringing notice to themselves, those folks deserve that bike lol
