Go fast ! Turn 4 (the first left hand) Turn 10 (last one onto the straight) Pretty simple and flowing. Decent lap time is under 1:20. Record is a 1:09. Regular fast pace is 1:11-1:15.
Ok, is the track surface fairly good? Also, I have a 40' trailer so I need to know is the paddock fairly big? Anyone else going over Easter Weekend?
Paddock is plenty big. No power unless you rent a garage or bring a generator Surface pretty decent, will eat tires
Unless it has changed do NOT buy gas in the little town across the interstate unless you prefer to be robbed. Last time I went (a few years ago) it was considerably higher than the US hwy over by the track and stupid expensive even for Indiana. I always made sure I brought gas with me.
No camping in paddock area, cloverdale campground is just down the road from the track or the wal mart parking lot at the cloverdale exit. We get it, you have a big trailer. So do factory teams. The better question is how good of a driver are you? The paddock is no better or worse than any other track and there is ample room to get around if you plan ahead. Just don't be "that guy" with the big trailer that parks in the middle of everyone then HAS to leave early and forces others to move their stuff to accommodate you! As for track surface, its grippy, a little bumpy in places and likes to eat tires as I recall. It's a fast flowing track that has some fun corners. Don't brake for T1.
Paddock is plenty big enough but you can't camp at the track overnight. There are hotels and an RV camp near by though. Be there early, like 6:30-7 or there will be a long line to get in. Track surface is great! Lots of grip so it eats tires. No major bumps or cracks to watch out for. They'll go over track entrance and exit at the riders meeting since it's a little different.
:wtf:I'm not saying that to impress anyone, I could give a sh!t what anyone thinks of my stuff. As for driving I have had my CDL for over 20 years so I think I can manage a little 40' trailer. Your other comments were actually useful.
Mmmmmm.. putnam.. love that place.. its getting some herpe-ish spots in turn 2 & on the exit of turn 5 (which is the sketchiest of the bunch) the track is fun though & has a special place in my heart as its the first track i ever rode at. The garage's are great & camping isn't that far away though ppl complain about it, maybe 10 mins away. who needs brakes in turn 1?? LOL

I can't pull a trailer to save my damn life, well I can pull one just cant back the damn thing up!!!
But do you have a big deck? That's what everyone really wants to know. Or do you trim the bushes around the deck to make it look bigger?
Point is, you mention your trailer... a lot. Even posted pics of it, repeatedly. There is a fine line between questions and "LOOK AT MEEEEEEE!" Based on your signature line, you have experience at various racetracks and understand that much bigger vehicles than your "little 40 footer" (your words) need to get in and out of them. So, as someone who has had a CDL for 20 years, you should be able to take that thing thru a mcdonalds drive thru assuming its not height restricted. "hey guys, im concerned my trailer will be hard to get in and out" is a much different statement of the same issue. That being said, its all good fun and nothing i wouldn't expect anyone to hit me with as well.
I typically stay up the street at the church parking lot. The pastor welcomes us as long as we respect the privilege. No problem with my 2 ft trailer. J
