Putnam was the first track I've ever been to. I did crash the second day and broke a few bones. I went back there last year and I still love it.
that wasn't even the good description for it, more like strafed :lmao: come to think of it, my first crash was at putnam too lol
yeah I think this was in 2012, shortly after the garages were built. I can't remember if they even let this org use them or not...
Just wondering how many crashes happened on cold tires vs hot tires? I may be setting my Chicken Hawks on High the whole damn weekend.
Cold tire crashes are typically accidental. Maybe your warmers came unplugged or you didn't get them on in time or its just cold out. You should run your warmers on high (180-185) for 45-60 minutes before go time. Longer if it cold ....and I rank Putnam at the bottom of my favorites list. Don't care too much for it
My Epic Putnam story was about 12 Years ago.... We went up and it was raining like hell the week before... It was cold and the track was damp... April.... We went out the first session on DOT's and were taking it easy... Everyone was sliding around like crazy... A couple bikes went down... We all came in the pits and started checking tire pressures ect... We were pretty confused because we all ride fairly good in damp conditions , rainy conditions ect however we were all having the same Whoooo Crap moments that first session.... Upon checking my rear pressure on my bike I see all of this pink crap on my undertail.... WORMS..... Yep... the water the weeks before this weekend drove all of the worms out of the ground and they covered the entire track... Once the sun came out and dried things up it was crazy... especially if you got off the line...
