Another good one to watch. Where was this Vale in Sepang? Hopefully this Vale shows up in Valencia...
I need to go out and buy that game instead of watching YouTube vids! Unfortunately, I would also need to buy a PS4 (or other game console)...
Well, with the news just announced I am more than 70% leaning towards just blowing off the final race and coming back in 2016. Frak Rossi and the horse he rode in on. This whole thing has just left me with a bad taste in my mouth. It's not fun any longer.
Sorry, I wasn't thinking others would not be aware. Rossi has filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS). It will take up to six months for them to hear his appeal. In the meantime he has filed a request that his penalty be suspended. That hearing will take place November 6th. So, it's looking very likely that all you'll get race weekend is the provisional championship winner. What a frickin' mess.
They should just revert back to who was in what position the prior lap and award points based on that! Yes it will affect all riders but hey, they were both at fault - one for trying to control the championship outcome (which I think is bigger BS) and the other for losing his cool! Then they line em up based on qualifying for Valencia.. DONE!!
Why "provisional"? Regardless of the outcome of the arbitration Rossi is still starting at the back of Grid. You can't "fix" the results once the race is over.
I'm probably in the minority.... What I saw in the incident was Rossi running Marquez wide, MM leaned into Rossi and pushed his head on Rossi's knee. Rossi shoved MM's head back with his knee and may have caught MM's handlebar in the process. I believe the knee shove was in response to MM leaning on Rossi and any contact to the handlebar unintended as Rossi wasn't even looking in that direction. I also agree with Pedrosa - the guy on the inside owns the corner. MM should have given the corner. I wouldn't have given a penalty in this incident. In my view, Marquez is mainly at fault for initiating contact. Yes, Rossi drove him wide. Anybody who has ever raced for first place and tried an outside pass has been pushed to the grass. In this case you can either 1) get bumped, 2) ride off into the grass, or 3) give the corner and try again next corner. Choice 1 and 2 are losers more times than not. Marquez rides aggressive and doesn't give other racers much if any room. I'm okay with this. But I think he should expect that some of his competitors may not leave him any space in return. I don't think Marquez gets this. I don't like the penalty because the ruling is that Rossi intentionally ran wide initiating or causing contact. I could concede giving him a penalty point for looking over his shoulder and running extra wide as unsportsman like conduct. That's how I see it anyway.
The way I see it, it has nothing to do with Marquez falling, or the knee move. The fact is that Rossi wasn't racing. He was deliberately slowing, running wide, and pushing marquez off the track. Forget that this was motogp. What if a corner worker saw this during a Wera or CCS race?
I think it means the penalty would be on hold till it was decided, which would mean Rossi starts where he qualifies
This is funny. Maybe the trophy MM wants? http://lanesplitter.jalopnik.com/moto-gp-racer-involved-in-controversial-crash-assaulted-1739759100
Was wondering what Jason Pridmore would think of all this (I get his newsletter for The Star School). Good write up.... http://starmotorcycle.com/marquez-v...c2162ded5ec34cf6e499ffbc268e621651cf32ea9a784
I guess I'm in the minority here. My brain must be wired wrong or something because I still feel like Rossi was being slimy and feel that he deserves more than 3 points discipline. I think Mr. Pridmore was too critical of Marquez, and not critical enough of Rossi. https://twitter.com/Official_CS27/status/658221185059000320
Oh boy, now you gave me a reason to quote a blogger I read who made me laugh out loud. "Stoner should keep his opinions in his wife's purse with his balls"....lol But seriously, Stoner doesn't like Rossi. I think the main point Pridmore is making is that no one is saying you can run your race, but when you're Marquez and your out of the championship and you purposely try to screw with Rossi because you blame him for your mistakes, you're crossing the line. So, I guess it just comes down to whether you think he was actually doing that or not....
