I just noticed the hotel rates for this October's Barber weekend are stupid. I'll sleep under my truck before I pay $180/night to sleep at Days Inn. There's a NASCAR thing at Taledega or something... I'm either going to camp at the track or see if a local will let me bunk in. Just a heads up.
My bed rolls into the paddock. Yea fuel cost just about balance it out dragging it there but the convenience is priceless. Price gouging at motel/hotels was a sore subject with me all those years I didn't have the house on wheels. The whole industry is a scam IMO. Glad I'm done with them.
cant beleive you were able to get a room at the hampton near the track. we have had our track spots bought from april, and at that time the hotel was full, and we had to settle for the americas best in near the track and got one of their last rooms as well. we may stay at the track for friday and saturday, and hotel it sunday night before the long trek home. night time temps will be the deciding factor. really looking forward to the event. Does the heater loaner require boobies.... or display of boobies.... or anything like that? Full disclosure, please. t
There are waay too many men in this thread interested in man boobs for me to continue posting..... No wonder I stay at a hotel... Besides, I GOTTA have a good nights sleep if I'm gonna have a chance a keeping Tiller in his place
I still sleep in the bed of my truck as well as under EZ Ups ect... Have Zero Degree sleeping bag will travel.... :thumb: I simply would rather sit there in the AM and drink a cup of coffee watching others pull in and scramble getting ready.. set up ect... $100 for me is half my budget for these things every Month.. Not to mention I am usualy the last to go to bed and the first to wake up anyhow.. Dont know how that habit got started but sleep is over rated anyhow...
BTW, The Only track I have ever stayed in a Hotel at in the last 10 Years is Putnam... And that is only because you cant stay at the track....
