Brilliant story Mark, love your resourcefulness in the face of a problem and so glad it worked out to plan. Possible titles for the story: 1. How my wife and I triumphed over the blizzard of 2011 or..... 2. How my wife and I took out the corner of the warehouse and rolled our fancy John Deere in the blizzard of 2011 So glad it was title #1 you friggin' wild man!! Your wife matched your bravado the second she said, "lets head for the tractor!" Cheers and keep healing.
Is the same Mark that was riding the Aprilia Tuono back in 2004 (I've been away from the STT family for a while)?
In that case, I'd just like to give Mark a big thanks and lots of well wishes. Mark was the track coach for my very first ever track day at VIR the July 4th weekend of 2004. Like most newbs (I still consider myself one), I was intimidated by the track environment. Mark turned that intimidation into respect and his personality and patience in the classroom made my first track day a GREAT experience. Mark, you're a big part of the reason why I continued going to the track. I owe you a big debt of gratitude for showing me how enjoyable and relaxing a track day can be. That being said, you owe me a debt of thousands of dollars for gas, tires, leathers, entry fees, etc. Heal up quick!
Thanks guys and gals for all the well wishes, they must be working. Todays Ortho Update: The casts from the wrist and leg were removed a week ago. The wrist is very weak, but will improve. The leg feels very good except I am walking on it again and by dinner time its very swelled up and hurting. The right ankle is coming along pretty good as is the left shoulder, the left elbow is healed. I am now going to rehab two or three times a week to try to get some strength back in everything. So eight weeks post crash and things are coming along pretty well considering my get-off and injuries. I think I could be ride-able by Roebling cept the bike was a total loss as everything but the motor is toast and I am bike-less right now (this makes Lois VERY happy) and looking for a new bike. Gives me a bit more recovery time. Hope to be back on track very soon and thanks again everybody for all of your support. See everybody at Roebling.
Bike To Ride Mark: You are welcome to any of my bikes. BMW and Aprilia RSVR4 are your anytime. See you at Barber
Re: Bike To Ride Thanks John and everybody else that has offered me their bike to ride. Thank kind of stuff means a lot to me. I am still a ways from having enough strength in my wrist to ride, so I am going to just chill and let it heal a bit more. We have a very full schedule this year and I will have plenty of ride time once all is healed. I used to just get right back on and blast away.....when I was 14 it was not a problem, getting old slows you down a bit :x Again thanks everybody for all the offers.
