Knowing my luck, the track will be completed after I transfer to a new position and location for my work. I am currently in Nashville - 30/45 minutes from the speedway, which closed the year before I moved here, and this track would only be 1.5 hours away.
I find it difficult to muster any enthusiasm for new facilties after Bluegrass, AMP and others. :bounce:
Drove past there last Saturday. There is a distinct lack of trees now and appears to be a lot of dirt has been shoved around. There was heavy equipment still there too. I'll hold on to some hope.
seeing as they are getting funded by nearly every member of the corvette museum & club members, that track will be built & operational by 2015
Looks promising they plan on opening Labor Day weekend next year. We shall see I'll get excited when its finished:thumb:
Awesome.... this reminds me, does anyone know what every happened to blue grass motorsports park near Cincy. I was actually signed up to ride there a few years ago before the bottom fell out of that deal. All I see is something about a judge settling but no date, not sure when that was posted.
It's for sale still as far as I know. Something like 4million and it would take at least that much to finish it
Just clicked through the links on the other thread. That's sad, that place is so close to me. I was so excited when it was looking more like a reality. Hopefully this BG KY track works out. It seems the economy is in a better place to get these ventures off the ground now. After all COTA is up and running and a huge success and IMS is talking about rehabbing their road course and venue. Maybe some new tracks are in our future.
I'm really crossing my fingers for this track. I hope they keep motorcycles in mind when setting up the run-off areas, unlike AMP.
Construction update. August 23rd. Narrated by Wendell Strode, NCM executive director http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=af_BO6OtVbA&feature=youtu.be
Lol they found a graveyard.. hopefully it's not Native-American. Anyone ever see Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead ?
Is it me or does the runoff of one of those turns go right up to those power (or whatever they are) poles?
it will be nice to have another track close by, and I intend to ride it if I can, but Barber's kinda hard to beat.
Ah, I see. I don't know anything about construction. It'll be exciting if its a nice track and facility. It's only five hours or so from me.
Went by there this weekend They are moving dirt around. I have freinds in Bowling Green as I went to college there. I have sent a few emails but no answer yet. was 65 minutes from my house to the exit. Lets hope it makes it to opening day.
