Shoot, plenty of room. Could even get your trailer thru there! Healea, you may be wide, but luckily I'm small! I just need a little room to get by! And no going all KOA on me, camping all the corners!
I am reasonably certain I have NEVER passed you and VERY certain your cheater vesrah bike sucked the paint off mine at mid o a few times! Ahh, the good ole days! You might be getting older, but I'm still a punk kid!
Love to...and yes..we'll have to work on TJ Brian! Just not sure about what days I can do...and yes...alas,I am aging as well,we'll tow you around and when you're bored with me we'll hook you up with someone faster...:thumb:
Loved runnin' RA last year on my R1! It was my first time, and I am HOOKED! Not many places where you have to downshift 4 times to get into T1.
I second this. Or would I be thirding it? Yeah. Third gear in one, seven, the carousel and thirteen. Second for three, five, six, eight, the Bend, twelve and fourteen.
+1 beaverun is one of the weekends so i'm undecided its a boring track unless you are on a 1k, hold it wide open, brake & turn repeat.. and i'll bet at least 2 ppl blow their motor there LOL sneaky 600 guys ftw!! :bounce:
Bike is just a ton calmer in third there, so you can concentrate more on entry speed and line choice. Eventually, you'll start to carry enough speed to actually justify third. Remember the bump at the apex!
I agree that third is just a bit easier. Though I need to find some corner speed there, just to say 2nd isn't really possible (or a gear change, I guess) . It seems like the speed is getting there when the front wheel floats down the hill near T2. Body position helps, but doesn't fix it. Maybe a little rear brake drag would settle it down a bit. It always makes my butt pucker to get the front end under control just to apply the front brake for the next turn. Also just thinking about notes from last time. I achieve a higher terminal speed on the front straight if I short shift to 4th before the hill and let the bike just pull vs shifting into 4th just after the "lip". I found that kinda strange. I don't know I've been upset by a bump at the apex, but there is definitely a crack in the pavement prior to the apex that I can feel, and see in the superbike suspension when I watch the race from the outside bleachers.
Everytime I go through 1 whomever is in front of me winds up just left of the rumble and the dustcloud forms..... Anyone know if they filled the hole out there or not? Planted grass?
I'll be out there on my ZX6-R. Haven't been there before but really looking forward to it. Gonna be a long way down that straight on my 600, the big bikes will be blowing past me all day. I'm tempted to bring my brand new GSX-R750 but the ZX is my dedicated track bike and I'm afraid to scratch up my new baby!
Take em both Booma.... :thumb:Always good to have a back up plus your bike can get scratched on the street too ya know...:thumb: Your in for a very religious experience..... I dont care how many videos you watch.... how many games you play....or how many track mapds you study.... Once you roll down the mile long Hot pit all that goes out the window and the fun begins... Road America has become my favorite track even with it being 17 Hours away.... The smacktalk in the pits with the Northern guys is almost as fun as hitting the kink in the tunnel on your way to Canada Corner..... The track, Management and Northern STT Crew make the time there well worth the trip 3 folds... Then to add a AMA Weekend prior makes the trip even better... Post up as the time gets closer and lets plan on a Beer.... Marc
AMA weekend makes me wonder...is there anything you could do with a bike(s) on an open trailer for the race weekend? I'm not going to make 2 trips from Chicago, so if I want to ride I may not be able to attend the AMA races.
