Just signed up for the July dates. I've never been there before but I plan on camping. Is there anything that I need to do beforehand or can I take care of all the camping stuff when I get there?
I'll be there for July 3rd - 4th, can't wait! First time there. Just bringing my lil' old ZX6R though.... Might even hit Grattan on Sun on the way back home. Anybody else hitting Grattan? B
I would call ahead and get your camping taken care of before hand. The more you do before that 1st morning the less stress you'll be under! :thumb:
Even on a 600 your in for an eye opener at R/A!! Nothing at all like Grattan. Bring extra gearing......:thumb:
That's what I hear. I recently changed chain and sprockets to -1/+1 and holy sh*t is it quick. Noticeably faster off the blocks. But i bought an extra rear hub assembly and I have a -1 rear sitting on it for longer tracks. I'll still top out since it's still geared a bit lower than stock, but should help a little.
Just over 3 weeks till the June dates are here!! :cheer: Luckily I have another 2 day weekend before then at MPH that includes a 1 hour race on Saturday. Hopefully my bodywork will be painted and ready in time for R/A. That should be good for another 10 mph down the front straight....:wheel:
In, both June and July dates! May also camp there even though I only live 30 minutes away. The less to do in the AM, including driving there, the less stress. Plus it'll be a test run for some new camping gear! B
BTW, for first time RA track attendees, there is a very big problem at RA and you will see what I mean after you do your first track day there. The problem is, it is so totally awesome, you will be spoiled rotten. I've ridden a few different tracks now, ACC, Blackhawk, Mid Ohio, Grattan, and of course RA. I live very close to RA so I try to do all of the track days I can there. Now, when ever I look at doing track days else where, it is very difficult to get as excited about them as I do about RA. Not only is the track awesome, the facilities and staff at RA are second to none, at least that I've experienced. The staff there is at the same time, polite and helpful, yet no nonsense. When it's all over, if you're anything like me, you will not only want to go back, but you will be bummed that there are only 2 events there per year. As for the track, it is fast, long, fun, wide, and challenging, as well as nicely maintained. Elevation changes add to the fun of the track. See y'all there! B
Well now we are down to two weeks and I am counting every minute........:woot: Hope to hell the Italians get my damn rear sets here before then though or I'll be one sore mo-fo!
I'm in for June 3rd, which doesn't mean much because I don't know anyone  Last time at RA was when I raced with CCS (Geeez I feel old now:wtf I did a track day with STT last year and had a great time, looking forward to meeting people, maybe even some people from the north shore burbs of Chicago. See you at the track Cheers!
