Trevor will put out a "Facts for Road Atlanta" thread prior to the event to outline everything. But typically speaking, sign-up opens around 7am, then when you are finished there, you will take your bike over to Tech Inspection. Then there is a riders meeting around 8:15-8:20. Then Intermediate is first on the track at 9am. While they are on the track, you will go to the classroom. Then you will have time to get dressed prior to going out on the track (to not be rushed, Intermediate riders should come to the Riders Meeting in their suit. They don't HAVE to, but it will keep you from being rushed after the riders meeting). Road Atlanta has a good intercom system, so as long as you pay attention to the calls you will be fine. Not only that, but you will see everyone else making their way to sign-up, then to Tech. And if for some reason you don't hear the calls and don't see everyone else, just ask anybody. You will see the STT paddock is a big family atmosphere. Anybody (coach or customer) will be happy to point you in the right direction. I know the first one seems kinda nerve racking because you really don't know what to expect. But I promise, all you have to do is show up. It will be easy from there. The best advice I can give you is to get as much done the night before as possible. I like to arrive as soon as I can on Friday and I will have my entire pit setup, gear laid out, bikes full of gas, etc. Then in the morning, it is just a matter of waking up, getting dressed, eating breakfast and going outside. The only thing I will have to do is double-check the tire pressure. The more you can get done the night before, the smoother Saturday morning will go. So here is a basic rundown: 7am - Registration Then take your bike to Tech inspection. If you get there soon enough, you will finish Tech with 30-40min until the Riders Meeting. Use that time to go ahead and check your air pressure, make sure the bike has gas, get your gear laid out and ready and get something to eat if you haven't already. Basically, you want to walk over to the Riders Meeting with your bike and gear ready to roll. 8:20 - Riders Meeting 9am - Intermediate on track, Novice to the Classroom. 9:20am - Advanced on track, Novice back to your pit to get dressed. 9:40 - Novice on track. 10:am - Repeat with Intermediate going back out.
No problem; I can't wait either. Having been almost 7 months since i have ridden, I got an adrenaline rush just typing that post. :bounce: BTW - if nothing else, just stop by my Pit if you have any questions (black truck, white toy hauler, STG canopy). My wife will be riding in Novice also (brown hair, kinda short, black leathers, riding a 675 with STG bodywork). So if you see me, i will answer any questions you might have. If you see her going somewhere, chances are you should be going there too. She has been around STT for like 6 years so she knows exactly how things go.
Hope to be there, new track bike is not ready yet, still needs paint, wheels powder coated, and a few more parts installed.
As I already mentioned, I will be there but I will start my looking now for a "Coach" to work with for the weekend. I was just at RA and ran consistent 45's on my 1000cc but I have difficulty with a few turns and breaking areas. I will be there in the "I" group and I desperately need some coaching. You help me and I will buy your supper. Maybe even Cracker Barrel??? LOL
I will also be at Tally next weekend with STT if you want to help with my body position and get an early start on training me!
You could always sign up for the Speed Academy event. You will get a ton of coaching, plus video reviews, breakdown of the lines in/out of every corner, body positioning seminar etc.
Looked at booking on the website but it only shows Novice as a choice. Are all of the INT spots taken?
Did you sign in? You have to be signed in, (and have previously run I or A) to see Intermediate and Advanced..:thumb:
