I came across these slicks for a really cheap price. Would these tires be good for A group track days? I'm sick of paying the price for the Dunlop slicks and burning through quite a bit. Tires are important and want some feedback on these shinkos.

No.... Maybe for a parade Lap...Would the Price of Bike repairs or hospital bills be better than a price of tires? Dont go cheap on tires... brakes.... or Gear.... Everything else is just in between....

You may want to call livengood in Lawrenceville, GA. I know he sells this brand. I spoke to him about these tires, and if I understand correctly Shinko, sort of owns the drag bike tire market. They are just now moving into sport riding/street tires. Not sure about track tires.

Thats what i was told also that they were hard. Great for highway and dragracing. In fact the large percentage of the guys i have seen on the track (drage racing that is) use the Shinkos.

Don't you listen to anything I tell you?

Tires, brakes & suspension are some of the most important investment to make to your bike to keep the rubber part down. If you cut corners on such equipment (especially brakes & tires), it'll eventually cost you more in the long run. :thumb:

I don't think I have ever seen one shinko tire at a track day...pretty much sums it up right there.

I was in the Novice session at ACC on 9/2 with another rider running the Shinko tires. The rider was fast, but it was extremely dangerous riding with him since he would frequently slide off the racing line. I saw him suddenly slide off line at least 4 or 5 times a session. I think he went off the track more than 2 times throughout the day. Luckily we were going slow enough that he did not fall. But for the most part, he had a miserable track day with everyone else having Michelin Power 3 class tires or better. One of the guys in our group yelled at him saying, "You better not hit me! Stay the f**k away from me!" Also, we all gave him plenty of space! Basically, if you use shinko tires, you put yourself as well as everyone else in your group or session at risk!

I am sorry if this comes off as harsh, but that was my experience.

Actually, I was trying to be nice. He barely kept pace, but was sliding EVERYWHERE!

That D209 sucks. The 211 is a LOT better tire...

    agreed...209's are bricks.

the 211 front gets a lot of negative feedback as well. i rode 211's all last season, and while they were good enough for my pace and cheaper than most sets, i'll be coming back to michelins this season
