Same here...recovering from reconstructive knee surgery and hoping to be ready to go at the start of next season. So I figured I should do something to make myself feel better. Solution? Sold my '05 SV1000S, the bike that got me started on the track, and am picking up a track/race prepped Triumph 675 next week. Funny, I hardly feel that pain in my knee anymore.... :lmao:
Well that should be motivation to get you through therapy! So tempting after reading about all the cool stuff they do to set up these bikes... http://www.trackdaymag.com/coverstories/501-triumphant-tinkering-.html ...cue the music..."You are so beautiful"... (Dennis Wilson, as an encore at Beach Boys concerts, Joe Cocker's version in the '70's or Marge Simpson's cover in one of the Homer Simpson episodes. Take your pick). :rawk:
dropped the bike at hoffer performance this am. getting new fork seals, and fluid. and dyno tuning the bike for fuel and ignition curves. getting ready for Barber march 9-10. Ski
Only an oil change and new belts for my bike before spring. Got new soles for my Sidi's for Christmas. Just need to find a good cobbler to slap them on. I also picked up a tire changer before Christmas. I need to practice up, so I can be handy with it come spring.
Tire machine is on my list, picked up a new identical suit to what I had. Gloves are getting ordered and I put bodywork on but my armor bodies lower belly pan is fitting like absolute crap, gotta send woodcraft some pictures to see what they can do.
Finished the first winter project. Made new bodywork for the wife's pit bike for her Bday. On to the next project...
Hmmmmm off season.... Not sure that is a proper statement. Freshening up bikes, assembling SV650, working, building some 675R's, shoulder re-hab for 19 more weeks, planning some early 2013 road trips, need to head south and slay some HOGS in Ga., training an 8 year old on the ice with his klx110. Somehow its just part of the cycle of motorcycling, not really down time.
bought a pile of slicks today happy birthday to me  :bday::focus::lean: now to pull the trigger on march for barber, and the june weekend at MID O, and the pro school at Grattan for my wera license. damn, this is getting expensive..... errr FUN!!!! Ski
