I totally agree with this and that includes if I am doing some stupid crap in my session without realizing it. My last weekend at ACC I was working on getting the bump to I and had the pleasure of dealing with two individuals that could not seem to follow rules. Granted we were in group 3 of the novice but still there is a NO PASSING RULE inside the groups until the track is opened up in the afternoon or by the coaches. Twice in the second session of the morning I was passed on the straight of the North circuit. Keep in mind I was not just trolling around the track and was keeping pace with the riders in front of me.
One of the riders almost crashed in front of me going into turn 2 when he ran out of ground clearance and had to pull the bike up and throw her back in. Once we exited the track for that session I made a b-line to the coach and this guy wants to come over and start apologizing and says he does not know what came over himself. I proceeded to tell him it did not really matter to me other than the fact that rules are rules for a reason. The coach pointed out that myself and the others had not been in the classroom prior to this in incident and that we needed to be. I did not know that was the case once you had moved to one of the groups 1-3 and made a point to make the rest. At the next class it was brought up about the passing and was never a problem the rest of the day.
We also changed the format in intermediate that weekend to include class time and I think this should be a requirement since this gives the coaches a chance t address any all all the situations to the group rather than trying to track some guy down in the paddock that is riding like an idiot.

I haven't read the entire thread, I don't have the attention span to read it all in one sitting. :D

But there is one thing I would like to point out...

I always see people talking about the faster Intermediate guys "riding over their head", "riding too fast", "taking too many chances", "riding out of control" so on and so forth. You have to keep in mind that the Int group has the largest speed differential. You can have somebody who is just up from Nov., and you can have somebody who has been riding in Int. for years but doesn't want to deal with the aggressive, close passing in Advanced.

Just because somebody blows by you, or enters a corner "hot", or passes 4 people at one time, that doesnt mean they are riding out of control.

You can be in the slow lane on the Interstate driving at 45mph and if somebody passes you going 75mph, the initial thought is "that idiot is going to get somebody killed". But the guy isn't riding out of control, he is just going faster than you are. While the difference in speed may seem reckless...that guy is in control just like you are.

If you were to take a rider out of Novice and put them into Advanced, they would probably think we are all riding like lunatics. :D But I can assure you, we are in control. The Advanced group is the fastest and most aggressive group, but it is typically the safest.

My point is, just because somebody is going faster, don't assume they are riding above their head or out of control. Sure, there are instances when people are pushing too hard and riding erratic. But i think sometimes the Intermediate group gets a bad rap when it isn't always deserved.
