Why It's Not Posted.... I thought I'd take a moment to clarify why STT East hasn't posted their schedule yet. There are two reasons. A larger reason and a smaller reason. First, the smaller reason. I am being punished for being overweight and old. STT has decided that, in retribution for this, they will withhold the dates for their events until the rest of you gang up on me and promise that I will be abused and made fun of whenever possible. (To me, this seems overkill given that you already do this...but, I don't want to sound like the victim here.) The second reason is that STT East enjoys having all their customers annoyed with them and if the are actually pissed off so much the better. The more you all complain, the happier they are. Now, this may seem like a poor strategy for customer satisfaction but really, they don't care. In a perfect world all their customers would go away and they wouldn't have to deal with this at all... Oh...and, I suppose there could actually be a 3rd reason. It is remotely possible, that, in an effort to bring the very best possible set of events to our customers, they are working very hard to nail down a series of complex discussions with the owners of the various facilities. If this is the case, we would have to assume that STT East Principals are working in good faith to bring out a schedule that is as good as it can get and they are asking that we be patient until all the moving parts have meshed. And rather than post vague, and possibly not 'cast in concrete' information, they have wisely decided to be sure that what they offer is what they can deliver. But nah, that can't be it...!!!
I can speak for David here, we really are working on the new height and weight requirements for next year. In an effort to improve our advance group no one taller or heavier then Dani Padrosa will be allowed to ride at our super fast and secret track days at Monti and other cool venues. If you haven't gotten a PM from David by now you are either too fat or freakishly tall. Sorry
0getting through the Winter Thank you for the powers at be, to continue this thread. As I sit in a Midwest blizzard, I am laughing. Some of you are great writers, with humor that truly assists me in getting through the winter. Only 5 weeks til Barber.
in all honesty, the fact that it is taking this long leaves me hope that we may get some mmc dates (like others have mentioned). its gonna take what its gonna take regardless of what we say, but this thread is a healthy way for people to vent their frustrations whether it be cabin fever, or just itching to know what tracks they will be at next season. i can tell you for certain that if there are no mmc dates its really going to screw me up because i wont be looking forward to overcrowded long ass trips to njmp. speaking of njmp how long does it take you guys to get there for anyone who lives in westchester?
Re: 0getting through the Winter ok here i am..................lol..............lance you ott to know by now it doesnt take much to get me excited ...............i know craig knows.............lol
Check the Facebook page, dudes. 2011 SST Eastern schedule is, well, a little sparse this year. Meaning nothing at all. Looks like I'll have to ride with TPM.
there's an announcement from David and Richard at the top of the Eastern Division forum & in general as well: http://sttforum.com/sttforum/viewtopic.php?t=8986
We did our best to put together a season for this year and for a while, it seemed really promising that we would be returning to Monticello Motor Club this spring. However, we were unable to convince the powers that be that a partnership with us was in their best interest. The people that we've been working with at Monticello Motor Club and have built great relationships, were ultimately overruled in favor of a group of investors who wanted exclusivity for their members. We looked into booking dates at other tracks, but in the end, it seemed better to scrub the season rather than have a lackluster selection of dates in a market that is already oversaturated. Hopefully, we can leverage our standing as the leading motorcycle trackday organization in the country to work with the tracks in our region and bring everyone the best possible schedule for 2012. Thank you everyone for riding with us and we hope to see you in 2012.
Plenty of other fish in the sea, when it comes to us paying riders. I feel most bad for the instructors and staff of STT Eastern.
What a crying shame. Hats off to Dave and the prinicpals of STT for their effort in pushing this rock up the hill. I really enjoyed working with the Novice Program last season and hope the folks that were introduced to Track Days find other opportunities. Maybe with some of the other STT days...Grattan for example. Its a drive...but it's a HOOT! Or, NHMS...in New Hampshire. Boston Moto has 6 days this season which should be a lot of fun! With a little luck, STT East will be back with a vengance! See you all out there...somewhere!!!
