Sorry Advanced guys, I was the crash out of hot pit on Sunday before lunch. Took off the warmers and then forgot I wanted to make a final adjustment to my clip-ons and decided to do it before going out on the track. I had changed the fork oil the day prior and one was slightly off so I rushed to get it done before heading out. By the time I got on track I think my tires had cooled down substantially - my own incompetence.

Ended up with a ripped tendon in my finger, big bruise on my thigh, and a mild concussion but the paramedics cleared me as being 'ok' and not serious. Big thanks to those who helped after the incident including the staff at Autobahn.

Needless to say, I had a blast during the time I rode whilst on the bike!

Edit: my brother, who took off the warmers, says he recalls a low reading on the rear warmer around 54 deg. Celcuis on the digital display. Might have shat out on me; any specific way to test a warmer for faulty cords?

i rode past you as you were limping off the track. i was close enough to giving you a high five. shit happens and a scrapped session is meaningless compared to someones health. glad you're OK.

This probably has little to do with your crash but what suspension are you running? It appears your front end is really low...

Here's one from Intermediate on sunday, having some fun working my way through some traffic. There should be a good bit of video of a few riders in here. Also you can hear me singing just before the back straight, lol.

And here's me getting stuffed by a guy and running into the grass. He apologized after the session and one of the couches came by and made sure everything was cool. I left one lap in there before hand, so if you just wanna see me run off it's at about 1:25

Atleast you kept her up, Pete.

You probably could have checked up and made it, but that's easy to say in hindsight. You did what you thought was best and it all ended ok.

Toads Mcgoads, everybody gets to go home then it's a win.

In either case I should have backed off him a bit. Would have been safer for both riders, and would have given me a chance to duck under him.

Before I clicked that I thought sarcastically that I probably had some worse ones, because this morning there were a lot of sketchy passes, but nope. Nope, you win.

Brad it was a crappy pass. But did you sneak into "I" ?? You ride slower then most of the "N". In your YouTube post you say "I resisted telling the guy he was #1 " I waived when I did it , to say I'm sorry. When I parked my bike , I went straight to Nick and told him what had happen. I apologized to him for doing it and asked if someone came to complain to send them my way. You went to K3 , as you should. Then came charging up to me in my trailer. You were sent away by K3. Yes, I got chewed on and I took it. We have all made bad moves, you just happened to be my first. Thanx for busting my cherry.

In the future , come by my trailer . I always have lots of food and drinks. We can sit down and have some laughs.

K3 did not send me away, as he and I left the classroom I saw your bike, poked my head into the trailer to ask who owned it, pointed it out to K3 and walked away letting him do his job. There was no reason for me to stay there, let my frustration get in the way of K3's job and flip you off like I wanted to at that moment. I knew that would be counter-productive and I was fully expecting the two of us to have a hug later that day.

But here's the thing that frustrated me, you never came to me and said "Hey man, I'm sorry." I did not perceive your little wave after you went airborne off the candy stripes as an appropriate enough apology and fully expected you to come say "sorry dude".

I have an Ohlins rear with a 190/55 but stock front. The front is 'low' but I prefer a stiffer preload and 40 ml overfill, with a tick off comp and rebound, to lessen late brake dive and compensate the higher geometry/sag difference by lowering the forks.

Brad, you being sent away was what K3 said. Dude if I know who or where you were would have totally come over. Hence the offer in my last post. Been with STT for 9 years. Have made a lot of good friends. It's all family there. Had a new guy that I had never met before come pit with us today. He was not ready at all. Took the time to prep his bike with him. Gave him the correct coolant out of my tool box. Taped up his bike and RTV his bike so he could pass tech. Missed the first session , but it didn't matter. The smile on his face after he came in... He was hooked. He signed up for the 28th before we left.

I rode better today, than i ever have in the past.

    As for videos.....
Most of mine got fouled up in the classic way. One session the gopro mount was loose, and it would up facing my exhaust tip the entire time (pointed back wards)
The nest session i didnt check the space left, and it ran out in pit lane...and the session after that i put a different card in, but low and behold....it ran out of space too. LOL!

I DO happen to have the rider laying on the track (at the "piano bar") from Novice today, with a shining example of WHAT NOT TO DO WHEN A RIDER GOES DOWN. I can post that if anyone (coaches) would like.
I do truly hope that rider was ok.

Anybody see the bike laid down up against the fence later in the afternoon today? I figured those are usually picked up after wrecks...thought it was odd.

Sometimes, a wave is all we get. People get busy, have to walk the dog, get gas etc. The pass was bad but he knew it and acknowledged it. I would have been good with it.

The guy on the red R6? He was pitted next to me. His friend said he was doing fine. Broken collarbone.
