Not really a shocker when you look at the timeframe, weather and list of things that had to be done. I just wish someone had been more forthright earlier in the process.

Go down Sunday and see for yourself. Mike the track manager is a great guy and doesn't mind answering questions. At the end of the day they usually let you take a couple laps around. I would suggest doing the laps in a 4 wheeled vehicle though. You can do it on a bike but IMO its' a little dangerous in some spots. There is one section of the track that you can damn near get triple digits at almost full lean. But I wouldn't know anything about that.

By the way get there by 12 or 12:30.

We have been totally, 100% forthright.. Just like a doctor tells you a diagnosis based on the information he or she has at hand, we did the same. we were told that venue would be ready. In fact we could run next weekend but we'd need to do temporary "fixes" for barriers and some runoff.

I take offense to your comments that I have been anything but truthful with the flow of information.

Yep. You can get a refund for Bluegrass or move the credit to June, or whenever....credits are good for a full year. AND you can ride a day or two days at ACC or BeaveRun for $100 per day.

    Re: Follow the link

Going out on a limb here. But a friend of mine works for Bluegrass Paving and he said that they SHOULD not let any vehicles on the track for at least 6 months or they will be repaving this time next year. He also stated the differences in "street" pavement and "racetrack" pavement, which is so technical I'd have to let him explain it. Polymers, aggregates, slag, etc. But they will probably use it as soon as it's paved. Who knows. If I were to estimate a date from a layman's view; I'd say next spring. I've been wrong before though. Just seeing the progress from an almost 30 day view. That's my prediction.

Not sure why you would be offended. My comment was that it was BMP, not STT, that was not forthright. Perhaps you should read my post again?

However, now that you bring it up. You did leave it too close to the wire for us that would have like to have made other arrangements by now.

If you are offended by that I'm sorry, but my words are intended as constructive criticism only.

    Cheers

(I assume someone thought my post didn't belong in the BMP May 30-31st cancellation sticky so I'll post it here instead)

Be advised that if you request a credit then once you apply that credit toward an event, you're stuck (even if the event is more than 30 days away). You can no longer get a refund or another credit.

I'm not trying to be a dick. I just felt like this is a gray area in the STT policy and some people (myself included) don't realize that even when STT cancels an event and you apply your credit to another date then it still counts as your only allowable credit transfer.

You used the term "someone". Thats pretty ambigous as I happen to be one of the "someones".

BMP has done the best that they can as well. I don't want to go into a zillion details but Brad busted his ass to try and pull this off and was still willing to do anything to make it work it's just that there were too many things that could go wrong and we were not willing to risk that.

Nobody misled anyone intentionally during this process, this I can absolutely assure you.

We'll enjoy the track in June>

BTW, I think it's statements such as these that cause people to feel like they're being misled.

I know from a business owner POV you want people to buy your product but based on the history of this track's progress it definitely appears misleading when you've made such definitive statements in the past.

I'll take you at your word that it wasn't intentional. But when every other organization was cancelling events that were farther into the future, you can understand why we (the customer) would not understand why the decision to cancel came so late.

Have fun in June, it looks like it will be a great track!

I agree. Sorry, but the trust is really slim right now. These are some of the things you stated, only to have the date cancelled.

I bolded what I based my statements on. I have this crazy habit of beleiving in folks. It bites me in the ass now and then but it has served me very well over the years and I'll most likely keep it as my mantra.

Do you really think I like taking a many thousands of dollars hit on every cancellation? Seriously, we loose $2800 hard cash money on a sold out cancellation, not to mention tens of thousands of opportunity dollars. Then we turn around and offer a couple of events at substaintially below our cost as a way of trying to make it up to our customers.

Aside from the money we HATE disappointing YOU our members worst of all.

I still beleive in Bluegrass and we'll have some fun time there!

I don't screw around when someone says or insinuates that I or Bonnie intentionally mislead them...or anyone, I take it very seriously. It's not fun and it's not games. If you know me you know I have a pretty over the top sense of humor but this isn't the time to use it. Sorry.

No back to our regularly scheduled BBS.

EDIT...... I'm sorry guys (and gals) this is really disappointing to me too. We have done everything we are able to obtain accurate info, pass it along and keep everyone in the loop if there is a change. I also think we have kept our members best interests in mind on this 30/31 cancelation.

I am just, if not more disappointed than anyone and when my integrity is called out I get my skivvies in a knot. Who would possibly want to go through this intentionally? Think about it. To even insinuate that this is intentional is in my opinion silly.

Hey, would you guys lay off Monte. He is doing the best he can with the information he has to work with. I am sure track management is in the same boat. Everyone wants the track to open.....just be patient, I am local to this track and I am just thankful that it WILL at some point be open.

Didn't your Mommy's ever tell you "Good things come to those who wait?"

With any type of start-up there is always some type of delay/s, so, you guys should have had fall-back plans in place :)

Stop pointing the blame finger and just click on another track for that weekend.

    Rant off....
