It's looking more & more like I won't make it. GF wants to fly me somewhere special for my birthday & grattan apparently doesn't qualify, even though it's special to me. The next opportunity that I'll have for BBQ in the midwest is in late Sept at Autobahn.start working on the gunshow, people!

Even though there is not going to be a ccw day, just wondering who is still going. I havent decided yet.
Hi all! I just signed up for my first Sportbike Track Day(s) for this Sat/Sun Grattan event. Any other novices signed up or planning to? Last fall I went out to an STT event at Grattan and talked with several folks. I was there in my red C4 Corvette (if that helps anyone remember me). I've been autocrossing for a long time and have also done a couple years of auto road racing. Grattan with all its various turns is by far my favorite track of the ones I've tracked/raced at (others are Waterford, Gingerman, Mid-Ohio, Road America and Road Atlanta). It certainly would have been interesting to try Grattan running CCW, but maybe it'll happen at a future event I can make. I'd like to meet people, so if you see me at the track, please introduce yourself and say Hi. I'll be there with my old electric blue Suburban, a trailer made for a car and the blue 2005 Yamaha R6 I bought last year. I spent an afternoon with Jeff @ STG this week to get all safety gear and more! Just need to get a few more things and I'll be ready to head out to the track in a couple weeks. I'm really looking forward to learning how to properly ride a Sportbike! Matthew.

Does anyone have a recommendation for where to get tires mounted and wheels balanced in SE Michigan? Somewhere in the area covered by Ann Arbor, Brighton, Novi, Canton would be convenient. I know I could get this done at the track, but since I'm a first time Novice, I want to make sure I have the bike ready to go before I get to the track. I've never changed wheels (on a motorcycle), so I want to take my time while I have time to learn how to do it. Matthew.
Well, I know there is Rosenau Powersports in the Dearborn area. Kind of the Meijer of personal motorsports. I'm sure there are some smaller shops in the general area but I'm not sure where. A quick google search might find you something closer. =-)
