No, we're only going to be there on Saturday. We didn't really have the money for both days. Who knows, we might have so much fun we see if we can weasel our way into Sunday, but I doubt it. Thanks for the welcome! We're both going to be SO nervous.
I am new here... but I want to try Grattan trackday. However, I might need transportation. Anyone from Metro Detroit / Ann Arbor area heading toward Grattan for both day?
Are there any libaility forms or medical forms that need to be filled out prior to arrival? I can't seem to locate anything.
Regarding Friday night, getting into track. Grattan and STT are two wonderful organizations, however security needs to be present if we are to be allowed in early. This does cost money, and I have no issue fronting the cash so we all can relax together. Do what you think/ feel is the right thing to do regarding the payment. Nothing comes free, and I dont like coming around and asking for money. My truck will be located at the upper paddock. Please act responsible, for this is a privilege to arrive early. See you then.
Nope, all of the waivers will be provided at the track entrance for the track, and at the tech shed for STT. Sorry, I've got a full boat - usually do.
Re: Regarding Friday night, getting into track. This is an EXCELLENT/TIME SAVING good deed by John, truly and 'atta boy' effrot. i really appreciated it back in June.....wish i could be there to help you out John!
Re: Regarding Friday night, getting into track. i live in grand rapids..so won't be coming up early. but it might help folks figure how much to contribute back to you in repayment if they know how much you're fronting to get them to open the gates friday night.
Weather Policy: All Sportbike Track Time venues have a "rain-or-shine policy". The track facility may call rain days and you must be present to receive a voucher. Rain-check vouchers are non-transferable and expire 12 months from date of issue. In the extremely unlikely event that management at a venue calls the day prior to any on-track activity due to the track being deemed "non-ridable", a make up date may be issued for a future date of the venues choosing. This date will be the sole remedy and Sportbike Track Time will issue no refunds/credits for future events. An event voucher will be issued to all riders scheduled for the event. This voucher may be transferred to another current STT member of the same skill level group if desired.
Yup, I know. I tried getting my wife switched to Sunday (Novice), but that wasn't possible... Since the always accurate weather channel is predicting rain from the wee early morning hours going all day, there may be a chance the track is impassible. So I thought I would ask! Already arranged for a tire change if its wet. Here's hoping for a dry day!!
let me tell you a story. friend of mine, we call him 'mileage'. has been riding about 30 years. excellent rider, msf instructor, does trackdays, hangs out with the racing crew. knowledgable and skilled rider. always struggled at trackdays, though. just couldn't get the mojo flowing. it wasn't until one day in the rain at road america a couple years ago that he finally loosened up, listened to all the track advice he already knew. but took the time to not just stay tight and focus on going as fast as possible with his current skills. he slowed down...and worked on improving. i swear he improved 10 seconds at all his tracks after that. dry weather sometimes only rewards repeating the same bad riding techniques over and over and re-inforcing them. sometimes you need that rain soaked slap upside the helmet.
For experienced people (track or street) I agree that slowing down will make you faster - It just works! But I will decline to agree in this case... Lol. She isn't scared and will do just fine. It's always preferred to ride on a nice warm sunny afternoon is all... You better get some good pictures tho!!! And there better be more than 37.....................................................
