Worst track day I ever have been to without a doubt. I have been to many STT events in the past including Full Monti last year and they have always run great events. Everyone has great points so far, and im not really sure how to fix it. One thing for sure though, there were way to many riders in the advanced group that didnt belong there. FYI....My friend was the guy down before lunch. He has 20 plus years of track days and racing under his belt so his lack of skill has nothing to do with his crash. He is still in the hospital with 3 broken ribs, punctured lung, chest tube, broken scapula, broken bone in his neck c7, and a concussion. Hopefully he will be discharged Monday and should in time recover 100%. He doesnt remember what caused his crash and I heard about 5 or 6 different stories so I cant be sure if it was his error, debris on track or possibly a rider that didnt belong in the advanced group. Either way I know several riders that will not be going again next year without some changes.

    Hey Pac,
It's good news your Bud will be healed up in time for next season!
I crested the last corner before pit out and saw a rider laying on his back on the left side of the track.
The get off I'm referring to was just past the cement dust put down for the crash in I,the previous session,on the downhill side of the corner.
They were showing the debris flag before that corner when I came in, prolly for the cement dust; Not your friend.
Most of the criticism in this thread has to do with slow or inexperienced riders in the A.
One of my worst TD was a Friday Pocono formula USA National practice session masquerading as a track day.
I was in I. So were all the weekend warriors that couldn't get a spot in A with the organization running that day because most of 'em had never run with #$%^&.
    I was run into twice.
    2 life flights
    Multiple crashes and delays.
Less track time than I got in last Monday.
....and this with an organization that has very strict rules about who rides in A.

    Was Advanced booked?

Did you try to get bumped up?

From what i gather, with the other org, you can sign up for Adv if you hold an Expert license or you can get bumped up. If you deserved to be in Adv, why didnt you try to get bumped up?

    No Chris,
I was riding in I 'cause that's the group I should have been in in 2001. Just saying, I had a lot of company that should not have been there, or at least should of been slapped down for riding/crashing/passing in I in that fashion.
I've not seen where one system is safer than the other. We are fortunate to have several organizations we can chose to ride with. Pick the one you like.
    Jeff
